  • Points are awarded for winning games by the following formula: each win grants the winner the number of points equal to the number of players who started the game divided by the number of players who won. For example, if two players share victory in a game that started with 5 players, then each winner is awarded 2½ points.
  • Adjusted Points are awarded like regular points except that adjusted points take into account the number of players still in the game when the game finishes, not the number of players who started the game.
  • A kill is awarded to a player each time a player eliminates another player from the game. Kills don't count for anything but glory to, or condemnation of, one's viciousness.

Another variable to consider for your standings could be number of opponents.

Anonymous— It's factored in as the points stat: you earn points based on how many opponents you defeat.

Did you have something else in mind?

Yes.Poorly worded.
You have number of oppenents at start. What about at the end?
in the games where a player has been killed the dynamic has shifted. You still have the standard goal based on the start, yet there are less players to deal with at the end game. Thought that might be worth consideration.

Thanks for tracking these stats.

Anonymous— OK, done. I've added an adjusted points stat, which is like plain points but with the number of players at the end of the game taken into account, not the number of players at the beginning.

On a side note, under the hood, everything is different. Before today, I was manually editing this page's HTML after each game. Today I entered all the game data into an XML file and wrote a Python script to generate the HTML based on the game data. This allows me to produce new stats easier—provided the XML contains the necessary data—and the whole thing should be less error prone over the long term. It would be cool if I had game data for everything—e.g., attacks, dice rolls, negotiations, etc.—because then we could have all sorts of saber metrics. But alas, that would require a dedicated stat-keeper during the game, and that just ain't going to happen.
